Conscious Choices
In an effort to improve our effect on the environment, we've tried to make more conscious decisions when it comes to packaging our products. As a small business, we believe that everyone has a responsibility to take steps in being kinder to the world.
We understand that our candles are fragile and need protecting on their journeys. As an alternative to basic polystyrene packaging, we've opted to use biodegradable packing 'peanuts' in our parcels. Naturally built from starch, these will dissolve in water or can be thrown into compost piles after a single use. Avoiding plastic as much as possible, any that we do use will always have been recycled from our supplier orders.
Made from a blend of soya beans and botanical oils, we only use wax in our products from suppliers that are responsibly and ethically minded. Just recently, we've started working with The Recycled Candle Company to responsibly dispose of any waste wax we gather. Based in Devon, this company cleans and re-uses wax that would have otherwise went to landfill, meaning any that we have leftover is given a new life.
With the introduction of reed diffusers to our collection, we're obliged to post these in leak-proof, sealed packaging. We've spent time sourcing a suitable alternative, and have opted to use biodegradable grip seal bags that will degrade in a matter of months or years, rather than decades or centuries. The actual base we use in our diffusers is non-toxic, and derived from soya renewable sources with a low carbon footprint. As with our entire product collection, they are vegan friendly and not tested on animals.
