I founded Só Soy in October of 2016, and to this day it's still a one-woman business. I first started in my parents' kitchen, with a real curiosity for candles and how they were made. After a lot of trial and error, my first fragrance 'Lemongrass, Lime & Ginger Root' was born. I really struggled to find candles that were made with soy wax, luxury fragrances, and matched majority of home decor. For the first time, I'd ticked all those boxes for myself and Só Soy was born.

I really wanted my candles to be simplistic and let the fragrance do the talking. I was able to design the candle packaging with this in mind, and all the products that followed. Over the years, Reed Diffusers, Wax Melts, and Carpet Freshener have been added to the collection, in a growing family of fragrances.

All products are vegan friendly and cruelty free. I only use luxurious fragrance oils, and soy wax from suppliers that are responsibly and ethically minded.

 

Expanding

I'd always worked a full-time job alongside Só Soy and in my 4th year of business, I made the leap to leave my day job. The business was growing faster than I could manage, and it was the natural next step for me. I stopped working from home and moved into my own Ballymoney based studio in February 2021. Once restrictions lifted, I was able to open the Só Soy shop, and for the first time I had a physical space where people could come to smell fragrances and shop in store.
