How to use scented soy wax melts?
When you first take home your Só Soy melts, unwrap each layer to reveal a highly fragranced little luxury.
Our wax melts can be used whole, or cut in half or into quarters, depending on the size of your wax melt burner. Pop an unscented tea light underneath and let the magic happen. Over time with warmth, the wax will slowly start to melt and release the wonderful fragrance. Relax and enjoy!
Are wax melts better than candles?
We believe this is an entirely personal preference. People sometimes prefer one than the other, or some like to use a mixture of candles and melts throughout their home. Wax melts can be a great introduction to a fragrance, so you can try without commitment.

What is a wax melt?
Wax melts are scented pieces of wax, and unlike scented candles, they are wick-less and need to be used with tea light or electric wax burners in order to release their fragrance. Did you know our Só Soy melts hand poured, always.
How long do wax melts last?
Our wax melts tend to last for 3 or 4 burns. We advise using our highly scented wax melts until you notice the smell start to fade, or until you fancy a change of scent. Typically 1/2 a wax melt will last for 12 hours (24 hours each whole melt). We make wax melts strong enough for every size of room.
How often should I change the wax in my warmer?
Typically 1/2 a wax melt will have a burn time of 12 hours (24 hours each whole melt). We advise you change your wax melt when you notice the smell has entirely evaporated, or when you decide it’s time to switch things up with a new scent. Our highly scented soy melts work well in all room sizes.
What wax melt warmer should I use?
We have our own selection of wax melters here at Só Soy, all suitable with tea lights. Our natural wax melts can be used in electric and tea light warmers, although if you have a burner on the small-side, please ensure you cut your melt to avoid over-flowing.
Do wax melts evaporate?
Unlike soy wax candles, wax tarts are wickless and will not come in contact with a naked flame. This means that the wax itself will not disappear, but the fragrance will evaporate. Once your fragrance has faded, you can remove your melt and replace with a new one. Wax melts are perfect for trying a new scent.
How do I remove wax melts?
At Só Soy we have a favourite way of removing used vegan wax melts. Simply wait until your wax melt has set completely, light a tea light underneath for a couple of minutes (just enough to start melting ever so slightly), and then pop the wax melt out whole.
Another way to remove your wax melt, is to soak it up with a cotton pad once it has melted. Then it's time to enjoy another highly scented vegan melt from Só Soy!
Are wax melts vegan friendly?
Yes, our wax melts are vegan friendly. At So Soy we hand pour each wax melt using natural soy wax. Made from a blend of soya beans and botanical oils, we only use wax in our products from suppliers that are responsibly and ethically minded. Our products are never tested on animals, and are free from animal products or by-products. Our wax melts are also plastic free.
Can I make my own wax melts?
Yes, we offer candle making and wax melt making workshops where you can create your own naturally scented blend. During each workshop, you can use soy wax, and create your own fragrance using a selection of pure essential oils. Oils include, neroli, lemongrass, sweet orange, lime, basil, myrrh, patchouli and more! Wax melts with essential oils; natural and perfect for non-toxic stress relief.
What wax is vegan friendly?
Soy wax is a vegan friendly option for wax products. Our wax melts are 100 % natural eco soy wax. Made from the oil of soybeans, soy wax is a natural and renewable resource. It burns cleaner and longer than traditional paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum. Soy wax is also biodegradable and free from animal products and by-products, making it an ideal choice for those seeking vegan and eco-friendly candles and wax melts. Other vegan friendly waxes include coconut wax and certain types of beeswax alternatives made from vegetable-based ingredients.
