Candle Care + Tips

Só Soy Candle Care and Tips

Want to get the most from your Só Soy Candle? We've put together some tips and tricks for best candle burning practice.

1. First Light

On your first burn, allow the wax to melt completely to the edges of the container. This helps prevent ‘tunnelling’ and allows for an even burn. Our long handled matches are the perfect tool for lighting.

2. Trim Me

Trim your wick to 1/4” before you relight your candle. This helps keep the wax clean and allows for an even burn. Be careful to remove any debris from the candle (matches/wick trimmings etc.) before lighting.

3. Know when to say Goodbye

Always leave 1cm of wax in the bottom of your container to prevent overheating. Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

4. Safety First

Only place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, and away from any flammable objects. Never ever leave a burning candle unattended. Always keep your candles out of reach of children, pets and away from drafts.

5. Size up your Space

Take your room size into consideration when choosing your candle size. Small candles will work best in smaller rooms, whereas large candles are best suited for bigger rooms or rooms with high ceilings.

6. Avoid Drafts

Candle don't like drafts. Drafts can cause uneven burning and wick smoking/flickering. A calm candle flame that's free from drafts will allow the candle wax to melt slower with a clean, even burn. This slower burn will enhance the fragrance throw and lengthen your candle lifespan.
